Online Network Marketing Sifting #10

by Del Edwards

The fear of rejection can be paralyzing and in online network marketing you have to accept the reality that rejection is just a part of the deal. In fact, even the best of the best in this industry have rejection rates much much higher than 50%.  Some extremely successful marketers even have rejection rates that exceed 97%.  I have to admit that there are times when that fear of being rejected AGAIN nearly caused me to give up on this dream, and simply being able to wrap my brain around a few concepts and establish a few rules in my life has made all the difference. If you suffer from this fear or know someone who does, just imagine what could be accomplished if that fear were eliminated.  Let me share with you just a couple things that have saved me and prevented fear from winning.

When I was about 15 years old, my aunt gave me a book entitled “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway”.  I read the entire book in one sitting and the information in that book literally changed my perspective and my life.  Over the years I’ve implemented that simple rule and i have realized that my fears are simply feelings that may or may not be based in reality and that it’s OK to FEEL them, but NOT OK to allow them to dictate my actions. I’ve constantly had to ask myself if I would be willing to allow a FEELING to stand in the way of my success.  The answer has always been a resounding NO, but my feelings still remain. So my DECISION, to feel whatever fear I have and then move forward doing whatever it is that I need to do anyway, has been extremely valuable to me in while working in this industry.

In an effort to change my feelings, I’ve also been embracing different ways of thinking that allow me to put reality into perspective and what I’ve found is that changing my mind has allowed me to change my feelings and in many cases eliminate my fears. Sifting, is defined by one dictionary as a method by which we examine something carefully in an effort to distinguish what is most useful and important. This concept is not new, but it is essential for MY mind to embrace it while working in this online network marketing industry. Why? Because it changes EVERYTHING. It changes how I see potential business partners. It changes how I view rejection.

The concept of sifting means that now I actually desire interacting with as many people as I can as fast as I can while sifting through them and searching for those individuals who are most important — the ones who WANT to partner with me in my business.  Please note that I’m not simply searching for people who NEED what I have to offer, because “everyone needs what i’ve got” right?? LOL.  All jokes aside, they REALLY do, but that REALLY doesn’t matter. I’m searching for those special individuals who actually WANT what I have to offer, and now the NO’s don’t really feel like rejection anymore. It’s not personal. As a matter of fact, I’d rather someone tell me NO as soon as they have all of the information and really know that what I have is not something they want, so that I can keep right on sifting looking for my next “bit of gold”.

Someone once told me that you have to view this business kind of the way you would view going through a deck of cards. You go through the deck as quickly as you can looking for your aces and kings and you discard the jokers. That’s called sifting. When someone gets upset because they approached 20 people about their business and all 20 said NO, I know that they haven’t embraced the concept of sifting. If you’re looking for gold you’ve got to be willing to sift through a lot of other stuff and if you understand that having a positive response from just 1 to 3% of the individuals you approach is considered to be a success, then it’s easy to see that you can’t have a fair assessment of your potential until you’ve approached AT LEAST your first 100.

The bottom line is that this is ultimately a numbers game, so get to sifting!

To your success!!

This page appears to get a good ammount of visitors. How do you advertise it? It offers a nice individual twist on things. I guess having something authentic or substantial to talk about is the most important thing.

You truly make it seem so easy together with your presentation but I uncover this matter to be truly something that I feel I would never realize. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it! xrumer
